The 7th PSSI-PLASMA SCHOLARS COLLOQUIUM (PSC-2019) will be organized by the Department of Physical Sciences, Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar during 08-10 August 2019.
The Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI) propounded the Plasma Scholars’ Colloquium series which was started in the year 2012 and has been conducted annually ever since then. The Plasma Scholars’ Colloquium provides a platform exclusively for students, research scholars and post-doctoral fellows working in the areas of plasma and fusion science & technology to have extremely thorough and exhaustive interactions among the young researchers and help each other in their research endeavour. The colloquium will include few talks by eminent scientists, oral and poster presentations by participants.
WHO CAN APPLY?
PhD/PostDoc/MSc
The colloquium is open to research scholars and PostDocs working in the area of theoretical/computational and/or experimental plasma science and technology. The number of participants is limited to 70. A limited number of M.Sc. Physics students who are highly motivated towards research in plasma physics will be considered. Students will need to provide a recommendation letter from their Head of Department and submit a Statement of Purpose.
Travel Support
Participants who are unable to meet travel expenses from their host institution will be provided to-and-fro 3AC sleeper rail fare as per the availability of the funds, provided they become a life member of PSSI. Participants are encouraged to apply to other funding agencies for travel support.
HOW TO APPLY?
Registration form and the abstract template is available on the PSSI and IAR websites. Only online registration and fee payment will be accepted. The last date for registration is 30th June 2019. Only soft copy of abstracts/ full paper will be accepted. The abstracts maximum page length is ONE A4 sized page and Full paper should not be more than FOUR A4 sized pages. Soft copy of abstracts/ full paper may be submitted or sent to the Convener directly. Abstracts and full paper template should only be used for preparing your manuscripts.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT/ FULL PAPER
The document MUST be in MS Office compatible – .DOC or .DOCX format (save as .DOC if using Open Office.). Running text should be in 12 point Times New Roman, justified, single space should contain a brief introduction, detailed breakup of the lecture and an extended description of the lecture contents. The maximum page length for abstract is ONE A4 sized page and FULL paper is FOUR A4 sized pages with margin 0.5” on Top, Right and Bottom and 1.0” margin on Left. Additional subsections may be added as required. Please use a single space between paragraphs. Textual references should be in this format.
Please include references from the internet as complete links with the title of the webpage. Please avoid using figures, equations and tables in the abstract. Abstracts/ Full papers submitted using the Templates available in the PSSI and IAR websites will only be accepted.

- Accommodation: Limited separate Girls and Boys hostel accommodation on twin sharing @ Rs. 400/- per person per day will be made available on request only. Details about the accompanying person should be provided in advance. Accommodation charge for accompanying person is Rs. 400/- per person per day+ food charges as applicable.
