Welcome Brigadier PC Vyas
Director, IAR
Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat expressed his happiness on Brigadier PC Vyas’s appointment as Director at IAR, stating, “The defence background and his leadership skills will be instrumental for achieving excellence for Institute of Advanced Research (IAR)”.
Institute of Advanced Research (IAR) Welcomes the New Director possessing distinguished military Background, with effective from 1st September, 2023. The Institute of Advanced Research (IAR) is an innovative modern university, which offers professionally focused undergraduate, postgraduate and research degree programs. IAR was established in 2006 with the support of the President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, who inaugurated the Institute, and the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat. The University is financially supported by the Puri Foundation for Education in India, established by Professor Nathu Ram Puri, who is a leading industrialist in the UK with manufacturing and other businesses worldwide.
Brigadier Vyas brings a wealth of leadership experience and expertise to IAR, having served for 36 years in the Indian Army. He is an accomplished leader and effective administrator, with his career spanning over three and half decades and his assignments spread over varied theatres and terrain in India and abroad. He is an Electronics Engineer and also has double post graduate degrees in Strategic Studies and Management.
As the new Director, Brig PC Vyas will be responsible for leading IAR’s strategic initiatives, enhancing academic programs, fostering community engagement, and promoting innovation and research within the university. He will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to ensure the continued success and growth of the institution.

My focus will be on team work and I do look forward to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and all other stakeholders to ensure continued success and growth of the institution, as also fast track the University’s mission of academic excellence, research advancement and community development.” said Brig Vyas.
