B.Com course prepares learners to face the economic challenges and multi-tasking, in finance, accounting and commercial functions of various organizations, industry and institutions. The degree develops business, managerial and entrepreneurship skills and builds up leadership competency in various areas of business.
The B.Com course is multi-disciplinary and aims at providing a strong foundation, intermediate and advance levels of understanding of the functioning of business organizations, commercial transactions and various specialized operations such as Accounting, Banking and Finance, Insurance, Trading etc. in a comprehensive curriculum.
B.Com is a 3-year program spread over six semesters. The students are expected to earn a minimum of 120 credits from in six semesters. The students who take up studies in commerce will get practical experience in economics, accountancy, taxations, marketing, finance and similar subjects.
A prospective student must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12th Standard) in Commerce Stream.
A continuous evaluation system is followed to assess understanding of the subject. Internal assessment shall be conducted through midterm examinations, assignments and class tests. End of the term Final semester theory and practical examinations are conducted by the external examiners.
