Welcome to the nanosensor and nano-biointerface research (NBR) Group at IAR led by Dr Alok Pandya. Our main focus is to design technology friendly nanosensors to measure the concentration of a disease biomarker at a single moment in time followed by the WHO defination that diagnostics for developing countries should be ASSURED (affordable, sensitive, specific, user-friendly, rapid and robust, equipment free and deliverable to end-users).

Overall, we develop nanoscale tools by doing molecule level modification to impart a desired functionality to that surface such as to:

  • Selective detection of target analyte – Nanosensor and nanobiosensors
  • Paper based microfluidic assay for the detection of protein biomarkers– Nanodiagnostics
  • The development of green and energy efficient nanocatalyst- Bio-inspired nanocatalyst
  • To get activated nano-biointerface as label - Imaging
  • Develop smart nano-materials in forensics: Forensic nanotechnology
