Our research group is concentrated on the synthesis and characterization of the new class of compounds: low-melting ionic compounds, also called ionic liquids. Ionic liquids have attracted much attention recently as possible environmentally benign alternative to the organic solvents used in various chemical technological processes. To this effect, our group is developing chiral ionic liquid (CILs) and evaluation of their physicochemical properties in addition to its role in nucleosides, peptide synthesis, asymmetric synthesis, organic name reaction (Michael addition, Knoevenagel condensation reaction etc.) as catalyst and alternative media for organic synthesis.
Our group is also interested in exploring the role of these ionic liquids in peptides and drugs stability.
