Dr. Nadgauda has over forty years of research experience .She carried out pioneering research in the area of Plant Tissue Culture. The technology developed for Cardamom became the base for countries first tissue culture commercial venture. Ever since she worked on diverse group of plants most of them having economic significance for India and other countries She played a pivotal role in transferring the laboratory scale technologies to the end users .
She was one of the key persons executing the countries mega project on forestry research which involed technology development, ,dissemination to the farmers/ foresters and assessing the tecno commercial feasibility. The work on in vitro bamboo flowering was published in Nature with a special editorial.
Currently she is engaged in pilot scale production of secondary metabolites from Plant Cells targeting the important molecules mainly antioxident, antidiabetic, antilipidemic, etc. She is subject matter expert on panel for National Certification System for Tissue Culture Raised Plants(ncs_tcp)-a programme of Department of biotechnology Govt of India, to ascertain the supply of quality plants to the farmers.
She published over 120 papers covering the research findings in several national and international journals. Travelled extensively for her work and coordinated several international projects with the prestigious organizations like British council, University of London .UK Swedish Agriculture University Sweden, FAO/IAEA Austria.
She contributed Academic programmes in various capacities likePh.D supervisor , programme coordinator, formulation of syllabus, member of research recognition committee, board of Studies, .Board of Governors and Dean.
She is a fellow of several Science Academies.
