Current Research Interests

  • Molecular epidemiology of multiple drug resistance in bacterial isolates of Vibrio and Shigella species
  • Cloning and Characterisation of efflux pumps involved in drug resistance
  • Molecular characterization of quinolone resistance

Awards/Honours

  • Best Research Group of IIAR Award of Rs. 1 Lakh was given in 2011 based on the performance of the research group and recommendations of the Research Advisory Committee of IIAR.
  • Prof. Umakant Sinha Memorial Award of Indian Science Congress Association for the year 2008-2009. Delivered the Award lecture in the section of New Biology during the 96th session of ISCA held at Shillong from January 3-7, 2009.
  • Young Investigator Award, DBT under RGYI scheme (2008)
  • Young Scientists Award in XVIth International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, September 19-22, 1994, New Delhi.
